Only for the Weak

It started out as a typical morning for me, eat breakfast, clean up the kids, start the music, and get down to business with chores.  I turned on an album I've probably heard hundreds of times.  I have every song memorized even.  But as I leaned over to switch the third load of laundry I heard these words.......

The father always starts
Within a willing heart
Open to how he moves
[Incomprehensible] his spirit is poured
He will do so much more
Than we dreamed he could do

It's only for the weak
For the faint of heart
Those driven into their knees
Those who live with scars
There's power from beyond
We're certain where it's from
And that's our source of strength
Before we follow Christ
We need to be advised
It's only for the weak!

For those of us in the Living Beyond Yourself study these words hold great meaning.  We are learning about the work of the Holy Spirit and how to allow ourselves to be filled by Him.  I was astounded this morning as I heard these familiar words and saw them as a reality for my daily life.

Do you have a willing heart today?  Are you open to how He moves?  Do you need HIS strength today?
I don't know about you, but I am weak today (like most days) and I am grateful the work of the Spirit is

ONLY FOR THE WEAK!

Hey good lookin', whatcha got cookin'?

myMission Fulfilled for Young Mothers

We have recently started a new myMISSION group for young stay at home mothers.
myMISSIONSM is the WMU® missions organization for young adult women. WMU leads people, individually and corporately, to be involved in missions through:
  • Praying for missions
  • Engaging in mission action and witnessing
  • Learning about missions
  • Supporting missions
  • Developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle
  • Participating in the work of the church and the denomination
Our plan is to get together twice a month in homes or at parks with our children as you would a run-of-the-mill playdate. Our playdates, however, will look MUCH different. As mothers, we are called to a very special mission field that includes discipling our children. To help us accomplish this, one of our "playdates" each month will include a mission project geared towards preschoolers. They will be working WITH us. For example, we might spend a morning baking and decorating cookies to deliver to the local firestation. Or, perhaps, they help us pack" blessing baskets" to give to new mothers. The idea is that we are imparting on them a spirit of love and generosity to others with the ultimate goal of sharing the gospel.
Our other meeting will be spent encouraging each other in this mothering journey to keep a focus on missions.
We would love for you to join us! Typically we will meet the first and third Monday's of the month.

Spring Bible Study

Ministry Verse

Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God's words; if help, let it be God's hearty help. That way, God's bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he'll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes! 1 Peter 4:7-11
